As part of the preparations for this years adventure to the Arctic I have had some excellent one-to-one training thanks to the National Rifle Association. The day was focussed specifically on weapons handling and shooting under duress for Polar Bear defence, particularly shooting at close quarters. You are not permitted to shoot a polar bear until it’s within around 25 Meters, that’s darned close for something that could be moving at 11 Meters per second…
… let’s hope that like so many things on my boat I never have to put this training into practice..
